This Advanced First Aid training is designed for personnel who may be required to provide an enhanced level of first aid response in the workplace or remote environments where immediate access to medical professionals may be limited.

Information

The training is suitable for employees, supervisors, safety personnel, and response team members who are expected to manage serious injuries and medical emergencies beyond basic first aid, within a defined scope of training.

Basic First Aid certification or equivalent knowledge.

A valid or current offshore medical, or possess an operator approved medical, and/or undergo medical screening form in SEQU.

The objectives of the First Aid (Advance) Training are that learners will be able to:

  • Perform advanced casualty assessment using primary and secondary survey techniques.
  • Apply Basic Life Support (BLS) including CPR for adults, children, and infants.
  • Safely operate and apply an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Manage airway obstruction and choking incidents.
  • Control severe bleeding and manage complex wounds and trauma.
  • Identify and manage shock and other life-threatening conditions.
  • Provide first aid management for fractures, burns, spinal injuries, and severe injuries.
  • Conduct scene management, triage, and coordinated casualty care.
  • Act within their level of training and follow site emergency procedures.
